With seating up to 100 people The Outpost Restaurant can cater for any occasion. Perfect venue for weddings. Get married in the beautiful landscaped gardens then sit down to a magnificent lunch or dinner cooked by John Snelling, one of Melbournes Finest Chefs.

Local wines and foods are prominent on our menu. Enjoy the views from the wide verandahs surrounding the restaurant. The rustic charm of the restaurant is a delight to the eyes. Features open fireplace in winter and outdoor seating in summer.

The Outpost Restaurant is the perfect venue for mid week group functions. With seating up to 100 people, we can cater for tour groups such as Probus Clubs and tourist buses.

 


The Chef - John Snelling

John Snelling has worked a number of International Class restaurants over the years, including 13 years at Café Di Stasio in St.Kilda, and was the head chef for 7 of those years.

John and his wife Barb purchased The Outpost Retreat in July 2003 and have been very involved in bringing the restaurant up to the highest standard. All food and desserts are cooked on the premises and the menu is large and varied, focusing predominantly on local produce.

Restaurant opens Thursday evening, Friday, Saturday for lunch and dinner and Sunday for lunch. Will open for bookings for over 30 people on any other day by arrangement.
